Hello world!

Welcome to the new version of INFO San Miguel!

This new website is much more interactive that our previous website … and we hope you will not be shy in joining our on-line community for San Miguel de Allende.

This is the first news blog entry for our new website. This area of the website will be devoted to NEWS … and really devoted! Our previous popular weekly news and events summary called New & Exciting in San Miguel has been re-named to The Weekender and for all our previous subscribers, that content will appear each weekend right here on our news blog.

Please note though that your previous subscription to either our emailed newsletter or the RSS news feed will no longer get you the news … you MUST re-subscribe!  Everything has changed!

For the newsletter version, use the Newsletter subscription box to the right … just add your email address again.

For the RSS News feed version, you need to use the Entries RSS news link at the top right of the page.
Now you can also subscribe to the Comments RSS news feed as well.  This will bring you the Comments that our viewers leave relating to our News postings.

With the increased focus INFO San Miguel now provides to People, Groups, and Businesses in San Miguel, you will see an increase in news from these new sources too … and not just in the news in The Weekender.

We will have much more to say on this aspect of our news in coming news posts … it should be exciting for everyone.

Will there be an issue this week (Sept. 13th)?

Meanwhile, we are finding it difficult to read this website after we’ve printed the pages (which we need to do if other family members are to read the “news”).

Any chance of your returning to 12-pt. type, so we can “apread the word” about San Miguel?

The Weekender from Sept. 13 is now available.
If you wish a larger font size for the text and the page, try enlarging by holding down the Ctrl key and tapping on the + key. Return to a smaller size using the Ctrl and – key.
If you subscribe to our newsletter using the Subscribe box at the top right, our newsletter with only the news … and not the links, and banners, etc. that appear on the page … will come to you in a larger font so you can print it that way more successfully as well.

Hello – Could you please help us. We are going to be in San Miguel for at least a week beginning on December 21st of 2008. We are looking for a good hike into the mountains and villages around San Miguel and we are wondering if groups are going out together or if hikers just strike out on their own. Thank you very much. 3 Older Gringos from Seattle and Minneapolis…

I returned here to find bus schedules that I found here last year and they are gone. Where does one now go to find bus scheduled from Texas (Dallas) in my case and the rates. Also is there an English speaking number for Transporte San Miguel anywhere? Thank you.

For anyone going to San Miguel and needing transportation to and from the Airports in Queretaro, Leon or Mexico City or to other towns and sights to see in the area, we highly recommend Reyes Ortiz.
He is not only a very pleasant person but a good businessman. He speaks very good English, is very knowledgeable and informative of San Miguel de Allende and the other cities, towns and attractions in this part of Mexico and has very reasonable rates.
He also gives tours to Dolores Hidalgo, Queretaro, Atotonilco, Guanajuato, Mexico City and other sites.

We used another transportation service earlier, then tried Reyes and we continued to use him for the duration of our trip. He was a tremendous help and delightfully informative. We will definitely be using his services everytime we return to San Miguel.
    We Highly Recommend Him.
