Most houses in San Miguel are rented for medium to long term stays. Usually a
minimum of 1 month is required.
Occasionally you will find accommodations in a house for a week
or two, but this is not common. Usually this is only a result of the surrounding
bookings not being "back to back".
A security deposit will usually be required that will cover abnormal
damage and for telephone long distance charges.
Sometimes you will see a house referred to as a "casita".
Usually a casita is a smaller, one bedroom guest house that is on the same property as the
main house (or "casa"). The casita is usually totally separate from the
main house.
