In its annual survey of world travelers'
favorite destinations, Condé Nast Traveler magazine
has rated San Miguel as
the 10th most desirable foreign city in the world to visit
In first place was Sydney.
Following were Paris, Rome, Florence, Melbourne, Venice, Vancouver, London,
then San Miguel de Allende in 10th place.
The magazine polls its readers every year
and rates the 100 most desired places to visit. Each location ends up with a rating
based on, among other criteria, Restaurants, Fun/Energy, Environment/Ambiance,
Cultural Enrichment, and Friendliness.
They give San Miguel a world high for
ambience (93.6) and second place for friendliness (91.3), second only to Perth.
It's rating on the fun meter (53.2) puts
in 9th place.
It can't compete with the big cities with which it is being compared for
entertainment, etc.
Some of us here in San Miguel would say
that is part of what makes
San Miguel so appealing.
