A statue of Fray Juan de San Miguel, the founder of the town in 1542,
baptizing an Indian, in front of the main church, La Parroquia, in the main square of San
Miguel de Allende |
La Parroquia was originally Neo-Classic style but in
1888 Zeferino Gutierrez designed and started to build the Gothic style tower that we see
today.
Archangel St. Michael is worshipped here. |
